Things You Need To Know Before Hiring Your Makeup Artist
With all the information out there, we know hiring a makeup artist can be overwhelming. The Vero Leigh team wants to keep it 100 with you and tell you everything you need to know. The team has come up with topics we often get questions about on our coffee dates. We hope you feel more confident in booking your artist after reading this blog!
HOW MANY IS TOO MANY?
COLOR MATCHING
When it comes to complexion, getting it right is our thing! By understanding color theory we are able to ensure your foundation blends, and NEVER looks cakey or ashy. We carry shades from from the fairest to the deepest so you feel comfortable with our abilities, and can leave your emergency makeup bag at the hotel.
FINDING YOUR LOOK
We specialize in creating cohesive looks for your wedding aesthetic. We want to know all the details! The dress, what your party is wearing, the flowers, and anything else that will inspire us while creating your look. Though Pinterest can be helpful, we don’t copy and paste looks. So if you are looking for an exact look from Pinterest/Tiktok/Youtube or the exact look you do every day, we are not the team for you. At the end of the day, we are artists first and truly love getting to know the look and feel of your wedding. That way, we can deliver the look that will enhance your beauty to feel your best self.
WHY AIRBRUSH?
GETTING READY VIBES
I always say pick your beauty team carefully and correctly because we are the first people you see on your wedding day. We can make or break the vibes for the rest of the day. We love curating playlists to make sure we have the music vibes set right, and you can find our playlists on Spotify! The one detail that a lot of makeup artists miss, is the detailed timeline. This tool is used to make sure everyone knows where they need to be, and lets others know where we are in the day as your beauty team. We take it one step further, and coordinate with your planner and/or hairstylist to help get one more thing off your plate.
We will add an artist for every 4-5 faces so we don’t have to start at no crazy 5 am! We like our sleep, and we like you to sleep as much as possible too. A wedding day is soooo long, and we want to make sure you have the stamina for the whole day by starting makeup at a normal time. Think - 8 or 9 AM. Can I hear it for more sleep?!
